Are you interested in studying Fine Art? There are many different schools and courses which focus on different areas of art such as commercial photography, fashion, design or commercial art. To view information that specifically relates to choosing the Michaelis School of Fine Art, click here.

All sections in the School are serviced by support staff members that have acquired unique skills derived mostly through in-house training. A number of academic staff members are also responsible for overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered at the school. International students

International students applying for semester study abroad (SSA) programmes are required to make applications, in the first instance, to the University of Cape Town through the International Academic Programmes Office (IAPO). An additional application and portfolio submission has to be sent to the Michaelis School of Fine Art. To read more click here.

Gordon Institute

The formation of the Gordon Institute is one of the most exciting developments in the Faculty since it was formed in 1999. It builds on the creative energy of creative writing, drama, dance, film and media, fine art, music and the Baxter Theatre and speaks to the courage, foresight and imagination of the participating units, and the Donald Gordon Foundation. Creative Africa Network (CAN)

Creative Africa Network (CAN) is a virtual platform with global reach, connecting the creative world within and outside of Africa, giving visibility to the talents working in contemporary art, film, architecture, design, and the performing arts.
