Jane Alexander completed her BAFA and her MAFA at the University of the Witwatersrand and teaches in the sculpture section of the school.  As an artist, she has produced mainly figurative sculpture, installation and tableau, as well as photomontage. Her research interests include contemporary art produced by artists from Africa in relation to political and social life, and its circulation, marketing and collection within an international context.
